The Daycare program offers year round, full-day care.
A structured daycare program is offered with a wide variety of activities such as art, music, games, story times, quiet and active play that develops the social, recreational and independent skills of each child.
We have a Licensed Capacity of 33 children.
(Expanded in January 2013)Meal and snack times are considered an important part of our daily routine. It is an opportunity for children to experience an enjoyable social time with their peers and other adults. They learn social skills, such as taking turns, appropriate table manners and awareness of different foods and textures.

Arrival Time
Parents are encouraged to bring their child to the Centre by 9:00 a.m. in order to allow them the opportunity to settle in before transitions occur. We ask that all parents call the Centre by 9:00 a.m. in the event that their child will not attend for the day.
Clothing
While at the Centre, we sometimes engage in active and messy play activities. We ask that children be dressed in play clothes that are both comfortable and functional so they can enjoy all activities.
Outdoor play is considered to be a vital part of a child’s well-being and education. Therefore, children should come prepared for outdoor play year round. This means boots, warm coat, mittens, hat, scarf, etc. in winter and cooler weather; boots and rain gear in wet weather; sun screen and sunhats in warm weather.
Parents are asked to provide a bag containing a change of clothes. This can be kept at the Centre on an ongoing basis.
Discipline
Methods of discipline involve modeling appropriate and acceptable behaviours to the children. Limits are set to ensure the safety of all children. These limits are clearly defined and consistently maintained by the staff. Staff will mediate with children in conflict, encouraging them to discuss their feelings and to solve their problems together. A formal discipline statement is included with registration forms.
Sign In / Out Procedures
Parents are required to bring their children in to the Centre, sign the daybook, and fill in pertinent information. Parents are also asked to ensure that their child is ready to begin the day. At the end of the day, parents are required to sign their child out. This is a security measure designed to assist in providing the maximum elements of safety for your child/children. It is also a requirement of our licensing body.
By law, children can only be released to a responsible adult (19 years) and only to those listed on the registration form. We ask that parents do not send an older sibling in for a child. If another adult is to pick up a child, notification should be in writing. In case of emergency a phone call will be accepted.
Health
In order to provide a healthy environment for all children, we ask that parents don’t bring their child to Preschool if he/she is ill with any of the following conditions: chills, coughing, runny nose, earache, fever, headache, sore throat, stomachache, nausea, diarrhea, skin rashes, communicable diseases. If a child does become ill or unduly upset while in our Preschool, we will contact the parents or the emergency person on their registration forms so that the child may be taken home.
At the Centre we are peanut free. We encourage parents not to send snacks for special occasions that contain peanuts. We diligently check for allergies and need parental assistance to ensure that we are informed about any concern there may be regarding a child.
Toilet Training
It is a mandatory requirement of our Centre that all children be fully toilet trained before he/she is eligible for enrollment in any of our programs.
Medications
Medications to be administered by staff are restricted to those where dosage is prescribed and clearly indicated on the container. Permission forms will need to be signed in such cases.
